Leawood couple donates art piece to be displayed in front of Mission Road fire station

The Leawood Planning Commission approved putting "Praise," a 16-foot art installation, in front of Fire Station No. 3 on Mission Road. The steel sculpture was created by Wisconsin-based artist Bruce Niemi in 1994. A fire station in southern Leawood will be the the new permanent home for the city’s latest public art installation.

At a meeting earlier this month, the city’s planning commission approved the final plans for a 16-foot tall steel sculpture called “Praise,” which will sit on the front law of of Fire Station No. 3, 14801 Mission Rd.
