COVID-19 hospitalizations continue to rise in JoCo — Here’s why that’s concerning

As the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations continues to rise in the Kansas City metro, doctors are sounding the alarm on what they say is the most severe surge of cases in the area since the pandemic began.

Hospitals are struggling as a wave of mostly unvaccinated patients are brought through their doors daily as both the Delta and Omicron variants spread across the greater Kansas City area.
