At least 375 clients paid Shawn Parcells more than $1.1 million in fees between May 2016 and May 2019, according to the federal indictment. Parcells gained notoriety when he helped conduct a second autopsy on Michael Brown after Brown was shot and killed by a Ferguson, Missouri, police officer in 2014. A Kansas resident who duped hundreds of people into paying him for autopsies that were never performed or completed is set to plead guilty to federal fraud charges.
