The Blue Valley Education Association, a local teachers union, has announced the winners of its annual spring 2022 scholarships.

The details: BVEA gives out scholarships in two different categories – one for graduating seniors and one for educators pursing graduate studies.

The only requirements is that the recipients must have plans to pursue further education and either be members of the organization or — for the students — have a parent who is a member.

BVEA uses a random number generator to select four winners in each category from all those who applied.

“We wanted to make the process as simple as possible and allow everyone who enters the same chance to be a winner,” BVEA president Debra Hotujac said.

Each of the selected winners was then given a $500 check to put towards their future education.
