A new option for pet care has arrived in southern Johnson County.

What’s the word? Veterinary care company GoodVets just opened its first hospital in Kansas in Overland Park.

Where exactly: GoodVets is now open at 4041 Indian Creek Parkway, at Overland Park’s Mission Farms shopping center.

What is GoodVets? GoodVets is a Lee’s Summit-based company offering a range of veterinary services for dogs and cats.

  • Some of those include routine services like wellness check-ups and vaccine appointments, as well as more urgent services like infection and wound treatment.
  • In addition to in-person appointments, GoodVets also offers telehealth appointments.

Bigger picture: This new Overland Park hospital marks the second GoodVets location in the Kansas City metro, after its flagship hospital is in Lee’s Summit.

  • According to a press release, GoodVets also has a third Kansas City area hospital in the works, planned for the former US Bank building at the Prairie Village Shops, which is currently undergoing a major renovation.
  • GoodVets also has hospitals in the Charlotte, Chicago, Nashville and Atlanta metro areas.

Key quote: “We have a passion for animals and their people,” said veterinarian and hospital medical director Dr. Julie Bradford “And we’re so excited to join this wonderful community in Mission Farms and serve the surrounding area’s pets.”
