Early childhood education center New Horizon Academy recently opened its first Johnson County location in southern Leawood.
The center will officially celebrate with a Leawood Chamber of Commerce grand opening event Tuesday evening.
The center opened at 3650 W. 135th St.
New Horizon Academy neighbors Price Chopper and the Bank of Blue Valley off 135th Street.
The center is open from 6:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
New Horizon Academy offers childcare and education for infants through pre-K
The center offers programming for kids ages 6 weeks to 5 years old.
The classrooms at New Horizon Academy have designated areas for things like art, language skills, music and math.
Outside of the school year, New Horizon Academy also has a summer camp program with activities like book clubs and outdoor exploration.
New Horizon Academy is also new to the state of Kansas
The center’s location in the Blue Valley area is also its first in Kansas.
Originating in Minnesota, the center has expanded into several other states.
New Horizon Academy has also opened centers in Colorado, Indiana and Idaho.
