Bravo operated at the Town Center Plaza

• The restaurant occupied a space at 5005 W. 117th St., neighboring women’s clothing store Loft at the shopping center.
• Bravo served Italian fare at that location for 20 years.

This was Bravo’s only Johnson County location

• The Ohio-based Italian chain still operates one Kansas City area location.
• The only Kansas City area Bravo restaurant still open for business is at the Zona Rosa shopping center in Kansas City, Missouri.
• Bravo officials did not immediately respond to inquiries about the Leawood location’s closing.
• Brecklyn Wright, Town Center’s marketing director, provided the following statement Wednesday:

“Along with our more than 100 national, regional and local retailers, we continue to focus on providing the best possible experience for our guests with a mix of retail, dining and entertainment options. As for the permanent closing of Bravo Italian Kitchen, it provides an opportunity to bring new tenants to Town Center Plaza. Our leasing team is in discussions with potential new tenants to fill the space and we will announce plans when we are able.”

Nearby shopping areas have had other recent turnover

• The closing of Bravo! Italian Kitchen is the latest in recent restaurant turnover at the nearby Town Center Plaza and Town Center Crossing.
• Kansas City’s Café Europa plans to open its first Leawood location soon at Town Center Crossing.
• Texas-based Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille was also supposed to open its first Johnson County location at Town Center Plaza, but the company reversed those plans last week.
