NotifyJoCo is an important notification tool
Every once in a while, news of a boil alert, a water main break, or a public health advisory regarding an area stream is issued in Johnson County. If you have registered with NotifyJoCo, you will receive real-time messages about these emergencies, as well as severe weather warnings, other public safety alerts, unexpected road closures, missing persons, and evacuations of buildings or neighborhoods. It delivers what you need to know. When you need to know it.
Because the free mass notification system is a partnership among Johnson County, WaterOne, and participating cities, you can also receive messages from any of the partner cities you wish. With this one system, you can keep tabs on what’s going on near your home, your workplace, your children’s school, and daycare, and anywhere else you choose by customizing your locations.
Keeping you safe and informed during emergencies is the priority.
All Johnson County residents automatically receive county-wide emergency alerts. If you do not register for NotifyJoCo, local officials will still attempt to contact you through NotifyJoCo using publicly available contact information when an emergency affects your area. The accuracy of this publicly available data cannot be guaranteed which is why it’s so important that you register (or “sign-up”) for NotifyJoCo. Your personal data is safe and secure. Public officials will only utilize it for the purposes described. WaterOne customers also automatically receive emergency alerts and is one of the partners that only uses NotifyJoCo as its emergency notification system. During an emergency, local media will still broadcast emergency information, but remember, NotifyJoCo is direct communication from local officials.
You decide how and where you are notified.
You also have various alert options and can choose to receive messages at work or at home, via a phone call, text message, or email.
