Kansas City-based jewelry and accessories boutique EB and Co. is coming to Overland Park this spring.

Owner Emily Bordner plans to open a new location in Hawthorne Plaza near 119th and Roe.

She announced an upcoming opening last week, prompting customers to guess where.

This will be Bordner’s third EB and Co. storefront. She started the boutique by making her own bags in 2012, in an attempt to “find the perfect handbag”.

That led to selling her products at pop-up events. She eventually expanded the store to include other items like jewelry and art prints.

The original storefront in Kansas City’s Brookside opened in 2019, followed by a location on the Country Club Plaza in March.

Now, it’s on the Johnson County.

EB and Co. has sold to Overland Park customers during Holiday Boutique shows before, but this is the boutique’s first permanent venture across the state line.

Bordner told the Kansas City Star that a “lot of the local love” for the store comes from the Kansas side.

The boutique is set to open in April 2022.
